Asha Griha, Golla Parish

Historical Development : Asha Griha is situated in the village of Padrikanda village, under Golla Parish, in the Archdiocese of Dhaka. On January 20, 2017 Mr. Lawrence Gomes, the owner of the house, invited Most Rev. Bishop Theotonious Gomes, csc to found a center for disabled persons in his own house. His family lives in USA for many years. He was willing to give his house for the purpose of service to the disabled. Hence, Bishop Theotonius Gomes invited SMRA Sisters to serve there. Sister Mary Minoti, SMRA, the Superior General of the SMRA Congregation, accepted the invitation and appointed Srs. Shudha and Mridula to serve in the center.

Apostolate :Two Sisters are fully involved in the service of the disabled. They are from four parishes of Athrogram Area: Golla, Hashnabad, Tuital and Bokshonagar. There are around 52 disabled children and aged persons. They are physically, mentally intellectually abnormal. They are also deaf, dump and born with down-syndrome.Sisters give them moral, spiritual support and physical care. They are trained to be self-sufficient. They work with the Sisters and Sisters teach them handicrafts work.

Pastoral Services : Sisters give pastoral service to the old, sick person, gives them Holy Communion and teach catechism to the children before taking Sacraments of First Communion, Confirmation and gives classes for preparation of couples before Marriage. They also do family ministry.
